The UK Prime Minister is expected to urge supporting countries to provide Ukraine with additional extended-range weaponry to strike Russian targets during talks in London on this Friday.

Sir Keir is set to welcome President the Ukrainian head of state alongside the so-called "group of committed partners", including over twenty of Ukraine's allies who have agreed to offer the Ukrainian government security guarantees once a ceasefire is arranged.

The Ukrainian leader has been urging for several weeks for more extended-range systems from Western nations, a step that the Russian government has warned would escalate the war.

President Zelensky is journeying from Belgium, where he conferred with European Union officials on yesterday requesting financial support.

"The only person engaged in current hostilities who declines to halt the war is the Russian leader," Starmer remarked.
