AC Shadows Unveils Unexpected AoT Collaboration for Thanksgiving
In a bizarre collaboration that defies usual forecasts, the game developer has announced an in-game partnership between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the renowned anime series Attack on Titan. The surprising Thanksgiving event runs from November 25 through December 22, providing complimentary additional story content for Shadows players.
Mysterious Adventure Uncovered
According to the authorized announcement, "A strange encounter pulls heroes Naoe and Yasuke into a fresh adventure, where whispers of prohibited practices and terrifying transformations resonate through the shadows." The narrative introduces a "oddly dressed woman named Ada" who assigns the pair with journeying into the Crystalline Cavern—a key location from Attack on Titan—to liberate her friend from a clandestine cult.
The questline centers on "peculiar trials and a terrifying enemy" and is available to all players who have unlocked the Yasuke character.
Familiar Locations and Metamorphoses
The preview showcases the Subterranean Sanctuary from Attack on Titan recreated as the Crystal Cave. This historic location was formerly where the Reiss royal family handed down the Founding Titan ability through eras. The preview concludes with a powerful scene showing a character, presumably the prisoner, morphing into a Titan that towers over Naoe and Yasuke.
Special Prizes and Extra Features
Players who successfully complete the quest will obtain an exclusive katana in addition to numerous objects secreted throughout the area in secret chests. The update also includes in-store Attack on Titan item packs, offering:
- Titan-themed outfit for Yasuke
- Mikasa attire for Naoe
- Special implements
- Survey Corps steed
Latest Free Story Addition
This update also adds the game's latest free story addition, titled "The Mystery." This humorous mission pairs Naoe and Yasuke as they exchange signature techniques: Naoe introduces a performative version of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke learns subduing stealth takedowns. Loyal to its name, "A Puzzlement" also contains a original environmental puzzle that may eventually explain some unanswered questions from the main storyline.

This represents scarcely the first time the Assassin's Creed franchise has crossed over with well-known anime properties. The series formerly included a 2020 cross-promotional story uniting Assassin's Creed: Valhalla with Makoto Yukimura's Vinland Saga. Additionally, Valhalla informally contained a quest that obviously referenced the well-known series One-Punch Man.
